The last stop on the Tuscan tour was Lucca. It's a walled city--with the wall still intact, that has been made into a garden/walk. This town has so many intricacies. Tiny cobblestone streets that lead you to places like this old town center, the houses curve around to form a circle. Waterfountains scattered everywhere with drinking water. A church on every second block, no joke. Most people ride bikes in this town, because the streets are too narrow for most cars to fit through. It's here I had to say goodbye to Jody, since her week of vacation ended. But, my flatmate in London, Sheryl & her friend Jane met up with me to continue on to Cinque Terre next. I also discovered that Italians have a secret love affair with magnets--which is contagious when you see how cute & eccentric they are! Miniature bags of pasta, toilet paper, dog's heads, Venetian masks, hats, you name it, there is a mini version for sale to stick on your refrigerator.
