This cathedral sits right next to Borough Market in south London. It was built between 1220 and 1420. That's crazy. Shakespeare's brother is buried here. I used the free modern toilet in the rear twice (was urgent due to the Pimms & Sangria). There was an organist playing the most dramatic, soul-searching music. Nothing compares to standing underneath that thing as it's pumping out full blast straight into your heart. It gives you the chills. As we were leaving the second time, they were getting ready for a wedding (how much more romantic a place can you find??), which upon reading the paper today, was for Ronnie Wood's daughter (Rolling Stones) Leah Wood. In attendance was Kate Moss & bf as well as other celebs. So much for my timing--I'm losing the knack! We missed it by 10 minutes! I did see the to-die-for Rolls Royce parked outside, that was going to whisk them away, tied up in a giant white ribbon. And....dear readers, please note the irony in the bottom photo....the energy-saver lightbulbs fitted to the gothic chandeliers. The new plugged right into the old. Even the Anglicans are doing their part.
