I'm a Londoner again.

Well....it's been a crazy week. Packing up my dreamy cottage. Pictionary with the family. Sad good-byes at work. And....did I mention packing up the house? Holy hannah. I hate moving. I hate STUFF! Especially heavy things. So...the flight over was easy....my friend Julie picked me up from the airport & drove me to Great Ormond Street Hospital to get my keys to the nurse's accomodation. Walking in front of the hospital as we drove up were 2 patients on the Berlin Heart out for their Sunday stroll with their parents & nurses! Crazy!

My room is ok. It's got a very high ceiling. A twin bed. A desk. A set of drawers & a closet. All in a lovely shade of yellow wood. It is on the ground level & just around the corner from Russell Square tube station, so very loud & busy right outside my window. I'll take some pix & post them soon.

Work. yep....as a bit of foreshadowing, the British Airways receptionist tells me, "Wow! Great Ormond St! What a great experience! But you are going to feel like you are in the Victorian times..." So....to be fair, I did mention the Berlin Hearts out for a walk. And, it is a brand-new unit, which is fairly clean & nice. Their monitors are brand-spanking new (touch-screen!). But...my first day, I had to be "fitted" for my proper blue uniform.....down in the dungeons of the hospital. Felt a bit like the hunchback was about to lurch down the damp, dark hallway at us!

Am still in the process of getting good internet connection, so am going to post this for now. But I'll be back soon!

Christy Cain, oh hooray, you're a blogging dweeb...which I LOVE!!! Sorry I didn't make it to your going away gig...I have no good excuse, just that I'm big selfish baby who HATES saying good-byes. Kind of like those people who don't go to funerals because they hate funerals. Well duh, who likes funerals. So I am a hypocrite and the people I hate...but I am what I am:). Wow, that was wordy! Do know that I was thinking of you and miss you tons...the nerve of you to leave right when I get over to the CICU. Keep me posted, I love having another blog to stalk!
