All to ourselves

It's amazing what you find when you really have to go pee. Badly. Instead of buying another cup of hot chocolate just to use a cafe's facilities (vicious circle, right?), we figured that the cathedral down at the end of the street would have a toilet. We walked in & found this. In complete silence. The place was empty. And, our jaws dropped to the ground. We opened side doors, peered thru the windows, found a staircase (that led to the toilet!), and sat in wonder of the place. Again, the grey color that permeates the city coating the walls, but is beautiful. The chandeliers! The giant organ. The pews that are numbered in old cursive writing, with an iron key you turn to open the gate to get in. The side "suites" that also are numbered, with keys to the door. I wonder if you have to reserve a place in here, like going to a theatre show?! What a gem. Neither of us wanted to leave.
