Katie & I met for coffee, then wandered down to the Natural History Museum for the Wildlife Photographer of the Year Exhibit. I love this building. Especially all lit up at night. It's so grand & majestic. The exhibit was amazing, needless to say. Anyone can enter photos, it's not necessarily for professionals, although they do make it competitive! There's even an 8-12 age group category. Give me a break. If they can figure out DSLRs, so can I!!! (Although, one entry was taken on a "coolpix camera!")There was a 12 year old girl from Alaska that shot a staggeringly close photo of a grizzly bear, walking through a river, splashing the water in the air. He's looking straight at the camera. You can see every hair on his body. The caption read something about her dad, sitting beside her, telling her not to move, so as to trigger the attack response. Those Alaskans are completely crazy. Letting & encouraging their innocent, little children to get that close & risk being eaten alive! I don't care if she won the bloody award! Who cares! I'm telling you, if Sarah Palin isn't enough....I think they all need their brains defrosted! I hope my family are reading this very carefully. You all need to move back to civilization before you lose your minds!!!
