Well, the Magnificence of the Tsars was magnificent. The decadence in that country 200 years ago! And, I guess still exists in pockets but now it's the oil billionaires. I am fascinated by the story of Nicholas II & Alexandra....Rasputin, the hemophilia, Anastasia, the assasination, the Revolution. And, I have now seen with my own eyes, his coronation cape....meters of silk embroidered with gold thread, lined with more meters of ermine, studded with jewels. Magnificent.I have 3 more nights shifts to go, then, I'm being adopted by my girl Katie's family. Christmas pudding, roasts & the pub. British-style Christmas celebration. (Actually don't like Christmas pudding at all...think fruitcake on speed....drenched in brandy, lit on fire. I'll just take the brandy, thanks)
And, today, Elle is coming down to have a night out in the Big Smoke minus husbands & kids tonight. She & I go way back and have painted this town red plenty of times. She was lucky enough to find a husband in the process, me, just good memories. But....I love every minute I have with this girl, so I gotta go & make my floor & air mattress more presentable.
